Reaction from around the district

Adulation:

Baird, I would vote for you in a heartbeat! Thank you for standing up for our nations [sic] freedoms and the 10th Amendment.

Cheers from Republican county chairs:

nansen RT @Redhk celebration! congrats @nansen! RT@itsonlywords: BRIAN BAIRD VOTES NO! #wcot #tcot #WA03

A reality check, that no matter what, right wingers will NEVER vote for Brian Baird:

Baird is a coward. He lacks the ability to vote his beliefs when that might risk his political future.

That said, Baird voted "no" as part of his ongoing rehab program. It's his effort to stave off his impending defeat.

And even Olympian political reporter Brad Shannon expresses a certain befuddlement over Baird’s claim that he had to vote against health care reform due to CBO numbers:

Go here to see the Congressional Budget Office’s blog outlining costs, which raises questions (by implication) about how much more information Baird needed before deciding his vote.

Damned 10th amendment tweakers either forget or never knew that the Constitution was written when men (NOT women) would ride horseback for 4 days to get to a meeting. When those same MEN owned slaves, and WAY way before the DEMOCRATS pushed through Medicare (1965?) to help keep old and infirm healthy. Oh yea, don't forget the VETERANS ADMINISTRATION, another of those bugaboo gubmint healthcare outfits!

wingnut assholes...
